Anteneh Shiferaw VP Engineering Core Network
Development and implementation of software test strategies for functional, integration, interoperability, and load/stress testing. Prior to SkyMax, Mr. Aneneh Shiferaw was the Senior Director of System Integration (Time Warner Cable/Charter Communications) Leading and building a converged VoIP system integration team for merged Charter/TWC/Bright House groups. Designing converged lab infrastructure and defining development/integration processes for the team. (Charter Communications)
Manage a team that leads the design and test of TWC’s next generation VoIP applications over the IMS core. These services include call/VM notifications to mobile devices, click-to-call and Softphone.
Extensive experience with design, test and deployment of IMS systems. Was actively engaged in those capacities from the initial launch of TWC’s IMS platform.
Provide Tier IV support for IMS and next generation VoIP applications as needed to augment the Operations team. This includes providing guidance to vendor support and problem replication within a lab environment.
Drove specifications for both our legacy and next-generation VoIP networks. These specs were derived from research I performed on fault management analysis as well as delay budget requirements. Was also actively involved in determining and designing an IPv6 VoIP solution that uses a Session Border Controller.
Led VoIP automation initiatives that resulted in identification of an automation strategy that has increased call feature test coverage area by more than three times while reducing test times by more than half. Test automation has provided our organization the ability to create consistent, reproducible test cases, and has reduced test cycles, optimized performance and accelerated time to deployment.
Developed and implemented a risk-based test strategy that enables engineers to focus efforts on areas that are likely to fail or have a large impact on customers if they do fail. This strategy has reduced test times for the cable modem firmware certification by almost 50% allowing for significant reductions in time to market.
Mr. Shiferaw graduated from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, and from McGill University Montreal, Canada with Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering
